If You Received a Ticket - Important Facts You should know before deciding what to do about your ticket:      

The Department of Revenue (DOR) adds points to your driving record when you are convicted of or plead guilty to a moving violation (a violation which occurred while you were driving).

If you accumulate a number of points within a given time, your license can be suspended or revoked.  If you are then caught driving with a suspended (DWS) or revoked (DWR) license you can expect to face heavy fines and jail time as most courts require a 10 day jail term for these offense, no exceptions. 
Even if you only receive one ticket or a few points on your driving record, this can have a negative financial impact on you.  Most insurance companies regularly run driving records checks on their insured drivers.  They want to see if as your insurance provider you are now more of a risk to them (this is known as Risk Assessment).  If they see new points on your record they can raise your rates hundreds of dollars or even decide not to provide insurance to you and drop you.  More and more companies are looking at a person's driving record and / or criminal history when deciding whether or not to make a home or student loan, or to hire someone as an employee.  You must protect your good name. 

This is why you must carefully consider your options before deciding to pay your fine and plead guilty to the charge without first having Traffic Law Services handle the ticket on your behalf.  It may cost a bit more upfront, but you can either pay a little more now or a lot more later.  Most prosecutors will tell you that they cannot speak to an unrepresented person as this presents an ethical issue as they are charging you with the offense, and most Judges will tell you that they cannot give legal advice, this is where Traffic Law Services steps in.  We know the Judges and prosecutors and can work with them to get you the best resolution possible.  Best of all, for the large majority of cases, you will not need to appear in court, we handle that for you as your Attorney.
